Zanzibar has announced an increase in the minimum wage for public sector workers to USD 192 per month, up from 300,000/- to 500,000/- Tanzanian shillings. This significant change aims to improve the living standards of workers in the Isles.
Dr. Mwinyi confirmed that the new minimum wage will take effect in January 2027, marking a crucial step in addressing economic challenges faced by employees in Zanzibar.
