Zurich Insurance has been fined RM1.56 million by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for breaches in sanctions screening linked to an outdated database. This penalty highlights serious compliance failures within the company, as additional fines of RM1.04 million and RM520,000 were also imposed on its units for similar violations.
